A Case of Salmonellla Infection of Ovarian Dermoid Cyst

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of Salmonella infection of dermoid cyst originated from the left ovary is presented.
On the 25th day of the onset of the illness(on admission) the cultures of blood and stool yielded no growth of organism, and Widal tests with S. typhi, S. paratyphi A and S. paratyphi B antigens were
negative. While, the cultures of the Douglas pouch aspirates and the contents of dermoid cyst surgically removed yielded growth of a Salmonella strain belong to group D.
Surgical removal of the focus and massive chloramphenicol theraphy had terminated the course in a few days without any complication.
